Laser cutting
using the most up-to-date technology!

The company MUS-MAX Landmaschinenbau URCH KG in Groß-St. Florian has recently brought into service a high-speed laser cutting machine for fine and thick sheet metal processing.

The TLF 5000 is the second Trumpf laser cutting machine that is being used by Urch. With a laser performance of 5 KW and axle accelerations of 200 m/min the machine is absolutely part of the most modern laser generation. "In 1994 we purchased the first Trump Laser Machine but the daily production schedules for sheet metal manufacture constantly present higher requirements for quality and productivity therefore this new machine was only the logical step into the future", stated Managing Director Erich Urch when explaining his decision for the most modern metal working technology.

Fully-automatic sheet metal warehouse
This laser machine is combined with a fully-automatic sheet metal warehouse. Two storage towers (height 8.4 m) whose total capacity comprises 65 sheet metal positions (about 170 tonnes sheet metal) provide the material for the laser machine. "We have increased the size of the factory by 200 m2 in order to provide sufficient space for the warehouse" stated Engineer Robert Urch when describing the construction measures that had been taken. The data for calling off the sheet metal lots from the sheet metal warehouse and the identification numbers for restoring are transferred to the warehouse management from the master computer on the laser machine. According to Engineer Robert Urch "This means that the loading and unloading is carried out fully-automatically and at the same time the weighing equipment of the warehouse level is corrected and is always retrievable by the programmers and purchasers". Automation is inconceivable without an optimum data flow." The software module Cell-Server and Client ensures the data transfer between the warehouse, purchasing and the programmer.
