Company History
1859 Mux-Max originates
from the market blacksmith's in Groß-St-Florian which
Karl Gutjahr I founded in 1859.
1885 The son, Karl
Gutjahr II runs the blacksmith's until 1919.
1920 Karl Guß
takes over the blacksmith's with his wife Aloisia.
1925 After his death
his wife continues running the blacksmith's on her own.
1926 Aloisia Guß
marries the master blacksmith Karl Steindl.
1932 In place of a
child, Cäcilia Halbauer was taken in. Hundreds of carts,
ploughs and harrows were produced.
1952 Daughter Cäcilia
marries the master blacksmith, Erich Urch senior. The old
market blacksmith gradually becomes an agricultural machinery
and trading company. The marriage produced three children
(Karoline, Erich Karl, Bernhard).
1955 Grid wheels, twin
rims and trailers were produced in large quantities. The company
Reform in Wels is the main customer.
1967 Erich Urch senior
purchases a commercial building from the parish prebend in
Groß-St.Florian. A workshop with a petrol station was
then built there.
1973 Production started
in the new unit and new location. Erich Urch jun. marries
Helene Knapp. They have three children (Nina, Robert, Florian).
1974 Erich Karl Urch
runs the firm together with his father. Screw conveyors, maize
mills, silo rotary cutters and general maize processing techniques
are developed and marketed.
1975 The "MUS-MAX"
brand name is created.
1979 A further production
hall with 800 m² started operations. Workforce status:
25 employees
1984 Sales successes
in Yugoslavia, Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany
are motivating. Number of employees: 38.
1985 Erich Urch junior
takes over the management of Mus-Max Urch KG. A limited company
was set up for sales and distribution
1986 Exports are extended
to Sweden and Italy.
1988 A two-storey factory
with 1.500m² is required. Full-corn facilities complete
the programme.
1989 Erich Urch senior
takes his well-deserved retirement. Erich Urch junior and
his wife Helen run the business together. A further factory
extension is carried out. The total building area now comprises
4.000 m².
1991 The sheet metal
processing is expanded with nibbles, edges and welding robots.
1994 Export successes
with large companies in the Czech Republic. The largest silo
facility in Europe with 4.000m³ of silo space and 12.000
fattened pigs are despatched from Groß-St.Florian. The
modern laser cutting technology arrives.
1995 Flat Milling Cutters
perform well on the market and Wood Chippers are developed.
Other products are developed for the industry (catalysers).
Erich Urch jun. becomes Styrian Federal Guild Master for Agricultural
Machinery Engineers.
1996 Development of
tractor blowers for filling the full grain facilities. Market
introduction of the stainless-steel-tipping truck-discharge
worm.
1997 Mobile chip aggregates
are developed and sold. Great sales success with CCM Mus Distributor
2000 New Product: Fermenter
worm screw for biogas plants
2003 Engineer Urch
Robert joins the company after acquisition of 5 years' experience
elsewhere. A new laser machine is acquired.
2004 A further factory
extension of 300m² for large-scale chipper construction
starts operations.
2005 The machinery is expanded by a new bevelling machine Trumpf V850.
2006 A new production hall near the head office was made up – as fitting hall for the wood-chopping machines. Export to Belgium.
2007 Export successes to Ireland, Portugal and Slovenia. Workforce status: 70 employees. |
