The mobile Mus-Max “Hack Truck”:
Faster than our competitors would allow!
The development team of Mus-Max set new standards in the field of wood chip production with the “Hack Truck”. After about seven years of development work, you can see the result: the ingeniously simple hacker drive and the great efficiency of the truck engine!
We already presented this hack truck concept with MAN-LKW TGA 410 on the occasion of the KWF fair 2004 in Groß-Umstadt/Hessen as the first hacker manufacturer. Back then the customer Nassl from Altomünster near Munich wanted to sit in the truck cab while hacking. We picked up his idea and planned the pilot project together with the company Lochner/Germany in such a way that the original truck engine drives the wood hacker and the crane. In addition to the drive concept with gearbox and V-belt clutch, the focus was mainly on perfect wood chips with a small fines content, on a high degree of flexibility and efficiency.
The main benefits of this compact truck hacker are considerable: You get to your customers faster because the truck is faster than a tractor.
The operator of the machine works in the truck cab. When driving to the next hacking site, he can change from the driving position to the hacking position in the cab very quickly.
The “Hack Truck” is very good to manoeuvre due to the narrow curve radius of the truck.
All important operating and control functions of the hacker, the wood crane and the truck can be activated from the cab.
This “hack truck” is highly environmentally friendly and efficient because the engine complies with the EURO 5 exhaust standard and the truck has a very low diesel consumption of 0.3 – 0.5 l per bulk cubic metre (BCM) of wood chips.
The powerful power take-off NMV of the MAN and Mercedes truck has already proven its worth in many hackers (WT 9, WT 10 and WT 11), and there has been no gearbox damage so far.
The operator and the people living nearby are exposed to less noise.
The truck or crane cab with air conditioning offers much comfort for the hacker operator: less dust – less noise – good visibility.
The design with the elevating crane cab is ideally suited if mainly high-piled stacks of logs are hacked.
In winter, it is easier to mount snow chains on the truck than on a tractor.
A trailer can be taken along in addition, which is already done by many municipal service providers and motorway maintenance units because the hacker is fed from the right side in the direction of travel. Another novelty of the product line is a hack truck with ascending worm screw and conveyor discharge without blower.
